An impressive 1950s executive desk in teak, walnut & brass with floating surface, four drawers and tapered legs.
It comes with a beautiful "model 71" chair in teak and high quality cognac leather by Niels Moller for JL Moller.
The graceful design and materials of desk and chair complement each other perfectly.
Of exceptional quality, attributed to American furniture designer William Watting, the desk is similar in design and materials to those of Hans Wegner or Arne Vodder.
The subtly curved floating surface is veneered in beautifully grained walnut and bordered with solid contrasting teak. The four dove-tail-jointed drawers, also veneered in walnut, feature perfectly proportioned spherical brass handles.
This desk is structurally flawless. There is some minor wear to the borders of the drawer cabinets, and some fine, barely perceptible scratches to the surface (final image).
The chair is in excellent condition, the leather flawless. It has been re-webbed and bears the J.L Moller manufacturer plaque.
Visually appealing from all angles, this is a perfect free-standing item.
