six vintage "les arcs" chairs
charlotte perriand
leather and chromed steel

A rare set of six slung leather and chromed tubular steel chairs by Charlotte Perriand. These important chairs, designed by Perriand for the ski resort "Les Arcs", date from 1972. They are stamped with the date of manufacture on the underside.

A world renowed designer, Perriand worked with the legendary Le Corbusier for ten years. Her furniture designs include the Basculant chair and the B306 chaise longue (often wrongly attributed to Le Corbusier). She went on to design her own buildings and furniture, which cemented her reputation as an architect and designer of international importance.

These chairs are in good vintage condition, with patina consistent with age. The chrome is bright and untarnished, the frames robust and structurally sound. One chair has durable, professionally conducted repairs to the underside of the seat. These are almost invisible on the upper side.
