A pair of 1960s double wall sconces by Hans Agne Jakobsson for Swedish manufacturer Markaryd.

Hans Agne Jakobsson was a major figure in mid century Swedish lighting. A wonderfully elegant design, this pair of sconces casts a warm light, diffused by the thick double cased glass.

The sheer glass shades sit in stylish brass holders, protruding from the wall fixing via two brass arms. With light patina commensurate with age, the brass is in excellent structural condition.

Hans Jakobsson's maker labels are affixed to the inside of both lamps.

All shades are in execellent condition apart from a minor crack at the base of one shade, not visible when the shade is in place. This does not affect the structural integrity. Otherwise they have no chips or damage whatsoever.
